Krafton Reveals PUBG: Ded.net, a Roguelite Shooter Set in '90s Cascadia

Krafton closed out gamescom Opening Night Live with the reveal of PUBG: Ded.net, a new multiplayer shooter set in the fictional Pacific Northwest region of Cascadia during an alternate 1996. It's a sharp swerve from the battle-royale format that made the franchise, trading Erangel-style circles for a roguelite structure that carries progression across runs.
Introducing PUBG: Ded.net — a new shooter set in 1996 Cascadia. Closed beta pre-registration is open now.
The reveal trailer leaned hard into a grunge-and-occult 1990s aesthetic — neon flyers, cassette tapes, and a soundtrack built around the era's alt-rock — with points of interest like Cryptid Cove and Cult Church hinting at a stranger tone than the mainline game. Krafton is positioning it as a standalone title under the PUBG brand rather than a mode within PUBG: Battlegrounds.
Krafton hasn't announced a release date or window, but a closed beta is open for pre-registration now through the game's official site using existing Krafton player accounts.
